CA--yukiya's prayer.

LAST ONE, I PROMISE!! No more 'dead Yuuji' for awhile. (But I couldn't leave the group incomplete!!!)

I think about every aspect of my comic, Cardboard Angel . . . all the plot points, any side stories.... even stuff that may never get told in comic form, I think about it. Yesterday I was thinking about Yuuji's funeral (not a spoiler, non-readers!), and the moments before his body is cremated (customary in Japan). I pictured each of his bandmates having a little moment alone with him. Yukiya, the singer, grew up in a Catholic household and so he retains a little bit of that. He's on his knees praying, or thinking, or just crying... not sure which. Maybe all of the above.

Now, I know that Japanese caskets usually have a smaller opening at the top, for people to view the body, and place items in like flowers and mementos and such, which explains the 'shutters' on this one. Yukiya's position was the easiest to draw. Just too bad we can't see his face... but, it would be full of tears, anyway T_T;

I have problems with death sometimes. Perhaps this comic is therapeutic . . . It was a bit weird drawing 'dead' Yuuji. I mean, I draw him as a ghost, but he's fairly solid and very lively for a dead guy. So.... hm. Tough.
